Educating You on Adoption

You do have choices and options and you will want to think about them carefully. CPC has an adoption worker available that can help you better explore your options. More women are choosing adoption as a loving plan and positive solution to an unplanned pregnancy. Adoption is the process of relinquishing your parental rights to your child and placing your child with a family of your choice. You have the option of an open adoption in which you can elect to have open communication with the family, to include receiving updates and picture. Also, you can choose a closed adoption where you and the adoptive parents remain anonymous.

This Is My Testimony.....

One of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make has turned out to be the best one, not only for my child, but for me and everyone else involved. As a birth mother living in uncertain circumstances; enabling my child to have the opportunity to grow and live without the uncertainty and struggles that I have faced has ultimately been the best gift that I could’ve ever given her. I struggled with the guilt of not having the capabilities to care for her on my own. It was only through the adoption process that I have found the peace in knowing that she is very well cared for, not to mention loved, and spoiled, and that I have been given the opportunity to make a better life for myself as well. There is no doubt in my mind that I made the right decision where she is concerned. I encourage those birthmothers out there to set aside the desires of self and determine, based solely on the needs of your unborn child, whether or not your child will be given every opportunity that he/she deserves, and if there is any uncertainty there then make adoption your choice. Mary C.
